Swerve Salon has been a staple of Chicago’s high-end hair scene for over a decade, and their latest project showcases their dedication to continual improvement and education within the industry. The Salon’s New Talent Program, started in 2018, provides a training program for intermediate stylists, while allowing clients to achieve the full Swerve experience at a discounted price.
“In the New Talent Program, guests can expect the signature client focused Swerve service,” says Lisa Vanstory, Operations Manager. “The main difference in the experience is that a stylist supervised by our top educators will be providing the service and of course, the entry level pricing.” A professional blowout is a mere $25, haircuts are $39, and color services start at $45.
All stylists in the New Talent Program are licensed graduates of cosmetology schools. There is a rigorous and selective application process into the program. Accepted stylists will receive advanced, technical education courses from the owner Laura Shepherd, a former Redken educator, and her team of experienced artists. Once they’ve passed their initial assessments, the new stylists will be placed on the floor under the supervision of the senior staff.
“With our students working alongside our seasoned stylists, in a trendy and fun environment, discounted services suddenly feel like something of a luxury’, says Amy Ferris, Owner.
